Last week I attended a special viewing of Kerry James Marshall: Collected Works Exhibit at the Rennie Museum in Vancouver. Check out the photos below to see some of his work that can be found at the museum.
His work represents black people shown in various everyday activities and scenes that are usually captured or shown with white people. The art pieces are thought provoking and highlights black culture as it should be seen without the stereotype.
The exhibition is open from June 2 to November 3, 2018. Admission is free via a guided tour that requires pre-booking online at www.renniemuseum.org.
